LiveHelp Volunteer of the Month: Marc Sana

By Clare McKinley on April 16, 2018

Our April LiveHelp Volunteer of the Month goes to another student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Marc Sana has been volunteering with ILAO since October of 2016. He was selected as volunteer of the month because of his strong dedication to assisting our users and the noticeable positive feedback that we received. In the Month of March, he answered around 2-3 chats per shift. Positive comments received in favor of Marc were, “very helpful”, and “excellent.” Marc has also answered around 150 chats to date.

According to Marc, his most memorable chat was when he was “helping a user that was a victim of domestic violence. By using the information on the website, I assisted the user in realizing, through the Safe Homes Act, that she could terminate her lease early and request a lock change during the process of termination.” This is a really powerful story because it gave her the tools to escape violence. Marc’s experience is a testament to how our LiveHelp volunteers are able to empower and connect our users to the information from illinoislegalaid.org and use that information to empower them and improve their lives.
