Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights was founded in 1969 and is Chicago's leading nonprofit civil rights legal organization. We seek a dynamic Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts. He or she should have direct experience in soliciting funds from law firms, corporations, foundations, and major individual donors. The Development Director will report directly to the Executive Director, serve on the management team, and supervise a development/communications team that includes a grant specialist, database specialist, and communications manager. Among other responsibilities include working directly with the Executive Director and Board to develop and executive a successful 50th Anniversary Gala in 2019.
Seven or more years of fundraising experience, including annual events and cultivation of major gifts.
Experience with marketing and brand building.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Preference given to candidates with knowledge of the Chicago legal, corporation, and philanthropic communities.
