You may need child care in order to go to work or attend an education or training activity. If you cannot afford child care, the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) may be able to help you through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Children can get assistance regardless of their immigration status.
DHS helps parents who work or take part in approved education or training programs pay for childcare.
Who is eligible?
Effective July 1, 2017, you may be eligible for help with childcare services even if you don't receive TANF benefits. But you still must show that you need the childcare help to attend education or training activities. Use this calculator to find out if you qualify.
