A court may order either or both parents to give money towards:
- Health needs that are not covered by insurance;
- Child care that allows a parent to work or attend school;
- Education; and
- Extracurricular activities, like sports teams or music lessons
The court can order either parent to pay money towards these expenses in addition to child support. The court will often order each parent to pay half of these expenses.
