A spouse can still use a married name after a divorce. The law does not force them to change their name after a divorce.
If a person took their spouse's name in the marriage, the court will allow them to return to their maiden name or former name. The divorce judgment should say that the maiden or former name can be used.
But a divorce does not allow a person to take a new name that they never had before. If a person wishes to change their name to something new, they have to file a separate case.
