If your Section 8 voucher is being taken away because of eviction, you can try to prove that your eviction was wrong. If it's being taken away because they said you broke one of the program's family obligation rules, you can try to show that you didn't break the rules, or you broke them by mistake. You will have to prove these things with evidence.
Evidence can include:
- Paycheck stubs or bank statements to show that income was correctly reported;
- Witnesses, like employers, who can tell the hearing board how much money you make; and
- Another person's driver's license, copy of a lease, or utility bills to show that they are not living with you
If you missed a deadline, you should be prepared to give a good reason.
