Your agent in a power of attorney for property will need to show the original document the first time they speak with a company or service provider.
If the agent signs any contracts or other documents, they should sign your name, but should show that it is signed by an agent like this:
- “Penny Principal, by her agent Annie Agent.”
More than one power of attorney
You can give more than one person power of attorney, but only one person can be your agent at one time. If you name more than one agent, the power will go to the second agent only if the first agent cannot or will not act for you.
