The Williamson County Legal Self-Help Center provides legal information to Williamson County residents about their legal rights and responsibilities, instructions on how to handle common legal problems, assistance with some legal documents and forms, and referrals to free and low-cost legal services.

The Legal Self-Help Center does not provide legal advice to its patrons. Instead, it offers legal information to customers on such topics as instructions for available forms, answers to general legal questions, and information on court procedures.

  • Printing: $0.15 per page for black and white copies; $0.25 per page for color copies

  • Attorney Winter Campanella will be available for 20 minute, private, one-on-one meetings to assist library patrons with legal issues. She will give advice, fill out forms, review documents, assist with e-filing court documents, make referrals, and more. Pre-registration is required and can be completed here. More information about the program and eligibility is also available on that page.

Common legal issues

Getting a divorce
Explains the divorce process, including the difference between contested and uncontested divorce. Also describes how you qualify and what you can expect during the process.
Getting parental responsibilities of a child
Explains how to get legal duties to make important decisions for a child and spend time with them. Formerly known as "custody" and "visitation."
Going to court for an eviction case
Eviction is when a landlord makes a tenant leave a unit. The landlord must give the tenant notice and go through the court process. The notice must say why the tenant is being evicted.
Being sued for $10,000 or less
Explains how to respond to a small claims case if you are the one being sued.
Powers of attorney

Criminal record expungement or sealing request
A program to help you complete the forms to ask a court to expunge or seal your adult criminal record.
