Medicaid eligibility is re-determined every year. This means that you will receive a letter each year asking whether your information is still correct or if your circumstances, such as your income, have changed. You should watch for this letter and respond if you are required to do so in order to make sure that your Medicaid coverage continues. It is very important to keep your address up to date with DHS so that you receive your mail. You can update your information online, by mail, by phone or with the USPS. You may change your income and address at the IDHS website.
If your child’s All Kids health insurance is nearing its 12 month mark, but you want it to keep going, you must complete and return a redetermination letter that will be mailed to the mailing address on file. You must also pay any premiums that you owe. If the All Kids insurance ended, but you wish your child to re-enroll in All Kids, you must apply again and pay any premiums you owe.
After you pay the premiums, your children will have to wait an extra 3 months before they can use All Kids.
