A Notice of Motion A document that gives notice to the court and the other party. It explains someone has filed a motion, and where and when that motion will be argued before a judge.  tells the other parties in your court case that you've asked the judge to do something in the case. It explains:

  • The type of motion A request to the judge to make the court or a party in the case do something you have filed,
  • When you are going to court,
  • Where you are going to court, including the courtroom number, and
  • Which judge will hear Listen to and judge a case your motion.

Can I use this form?

You must have filed a motion with the court that you want the other party to know about. 

What do I need first?

  • The date and time of the court hearing when you will be seeing the judge,
  • The court address and courtroom number where the judge is located. You can get this information from a Circuit Clerk, and
  • The names and addresses of the other people in the case, or their attorney’s name and address.
