This seminar will address important developments in education law and policy during the past year. The program will discuss:
- recent developments in the Supreme Court;
- First Amendment rights of teachers and how schools and districts can respond to curriculum objections and library book concerns;
- student mental health needs;
- ticketing of students and their parents for school-related conduct; and
- legal, policy, and legislative updates from the Illinois State Board of Education.
This program has been approved by the Illinois MCLE Board for 3.75 hours of general Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit. The seminar and CLE credit for attorneys are offered free of charge.
