General Job Description
The Senior Campaign Organizer leads TRP’s Immigrant Justice campaigns, in partnership with the IJ team, partner organizations, and other stakeholders. The senior organizer plans, designs, and implements campaigns focusing on community protection, rapid response, and policies advancing immigrant rights.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- General:
- Design and implement campaign strategy for key TRP immigrant justice advocacy campaigns at the city, county, and state level
- Serve as TRP representative in other immigrant justice advocacy coalition
- Assist with implementation of communications and media strategy related to advocacy campaigns
- Build strong working relationships with partner organizations, agencies, and elected officials.
- Represent TRP at various settings including coalitions, conferences, funders, community partners, and media.
- Must keep current of changes in immigration law and procedures.
- Maintain required job skills and core professional competencies.
- Attend and participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.
- Supervision of organizers as team grows.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Campaign Design and Implementation:
- Assist with strategy to establish and execute or participate in effective winning campaigns.
- Train partners in campaign strategy, tactics, building relationships with community leaders and elected officials, and forming coalitions.
Champion TRP’s effective role as a leading partner in coalitions at local, state, and
federal levels.
- Organize team, community leaders, and partners to execute campaign strategies, tactics, and goals.
Coordinate successful deportation defense actions including rapid response, ICE check- ins, court hearings, press conferences and other public events
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or significant track record working within
immigrant communities as it relates to campaign work and organizing.
- Demonstrated commitment to immigrant justice.
- 5 or more years of experience in working with immigrant communities.
- 3 or more years of organizing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal, analytical, writing, and organization skills.
- Demonstrated public speaking skills.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office and Internet required.

Special Working Conditions and Demands
- Willingness to work flexible hours; some evenings and weekends required.
- Access to a car, valid driver’s license and insurance, and ability to travel throughout the state.
Position Classification and Salary Range: Full-Time, Exempt, $70,000 - $80,000 annually
