CVLS is hosting a two-part Adoption CLE series for its volunteers on March 11, 2026 and April 8, 2026. Join CVLS attorneys Phil Mohr and Rob Zielinski as they discuss important topics relevant to the practice of Adoption Law with the five Guardians ad Litem who handle adoption cases in Cook County: Cailee Alderman, Sheila Maloney, Michelle Hughes, Ashley Reed, and Rachael Toft.

Both seminars will take place remotely during the lunch hour from approximately 12:00pm to 1:00pm and are free to attend. CLE credit will be provided. Registration and links to the training sessions will be available on our website at www.cvls.org.

Part 2: Adoption FAQs and Unexpected Issues: April 8, 2026 via Zoom.

What happens when your client’s background check comes back with an unexpected arrest? What should you do when you uncontested adoption case suddenly becomes contested? Tune to hear the answers to these questions and more during a panel conversation with the five GALs from adoption court. They will discuss a variety of issues that can pop up unexpectedly during an adoption.
