Description

Wondering what attorneys do prior to filing a police misconduct lawsuit? Tune in June 4, when Illinois Legal Aid Online, the Chicago Bar Association's Civil Rights Committee, and First Defense Legal Aid will present a remote CLE presentation explaining the earliest parts of police misconduct litigation in Chicago and Illinois.

Chicago attorney David S. Lipschultz will cover the many actions attorneys take before filing suit, including key questions to ask in the first phone calls and meetings with the client; ensuring the fairness of the retainer agreement; and identifying the proper parties. Primarily, David will focus on the extensive investigations attorneys conduct to try to win the case before the complaint at law is even filed. Q&A is encouraged.

NOTE: pre-registration is required; arrive a few minutes early to allow time to install webinar software.

1.5 hours of free CLE credit available to day-of attendees only. With questions, please email [email protected].
