Description
Limited scope representation is often a win-win for everyone involved because it allows clients to save money by hiring an attorney to help with limited aspects of their case and frees up some of the attorney’s time so they can focus on the needs of their other clients. Join us for a comprehensive look at limited scope representation – from what it is and how to identify its effective uses, to the potential barriers preventing it from being used and strategies to overcome these barriers. Additional topics include:
- The Rules of Professional Conduct and Supreme Court Rules that apply to limited scope representation;
- How to use limited scope representation both in and out of the courtroom;
- The ethical and malpractice issues to be aware of when considering a potential case;
- What to do when you encounter a judge who is unfamiliar with limited scope representation; and
- What our speakers would (or would not) have done in a variety of hypothetical limited scope representation scenarios.
This training is certified for live MCLE only.Please contact the hosting organization for information on MCLE credit.
