Description
Lawyers in the Library is a free program sponsored by Speak Out Illinois LLC in collaboration with local area attorneys, law firms, and legal aid assistance programs. This program provides people with a FREE 15-minute consultation with a licensed attorney to get legal advice. During the consultation, you can ask legal questions, get information about court forms and e-filing, and learn where to turn if you have limited funds.
Lawyers in the Library covers family law, personal injury/medical malpractice, car accidents, and criminal law (misdemeanor & traffic/DUI only). Lawyers in the Library doesn't cover FOID card matters, sex or drug crimes, or Social Security.
Lawyers in the Library also allows an individual to purchase an In-Depth Case Review for $100, which is extremely affordable given the normal hourly rate for an attorney in Illinois. This In-Depth Review allows for the review of documents and pays for up to 1 hour of the attorney's time.
To complete your intake, please access it online via Speak Out Illinois' website. You can also access the form directly here. You can complete your intake Monday through Friday only (Speak Out Illinois does not process intakes on weekends).
