Job Description

The Integrations Engineer is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and improving ILAO’s digital platforms that power access to justice, including Twilio, LegalServer’s Guided Navigation, NextSteps flows, and Tableau-based dashboards. This individual works closely with the Legal Access Solutions Manager to ensure that legal issue needs and case acceptance priorities are translated into effective digital pathways for users. The Integrations Engineer works closely with the entire product team to ensure that our digital platforms are effective and plays a key role in ensuring that these platforms are accurate, reliable, and user-centered, while also advancing ILAO’s commitment to innovation in legal technology.

ILAO is fully remote, with periodic, in-person meetings. Position must be based in the United States.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Maintenance & Development
50%

  • Create,  configure, and update ILAO’s Twilio platform and integrations between it, Drupal, and LegalServer.
  • Maintain, enhance, and support our Tableau-based dashboards.
  • Translate legal information, case acceptance priorities, triage logic, and partner needs into fully built and functional digital pathways.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or configuration issues to ensure system reliability and effectiveness.
  • Document platform workflows, configurations, and updates for internal and partner reference.
  • Monitor system and dashboard performance and make proactive improvements to ensure seamless user experiences.

Collaboration & Partner Support
25%

  • Work closely with the Legal Access Solutions Manager to implement changes in legal issue priorities and intake rules.
  • Work closely with other product team members to implement and improve our SMS platforms, including ILAOHelps.
  • Participate in regular reviews of dashboard data with staff and partners to identify technical improvements.
  • Respond to partner feedback regarding system functionality and implement technical changes in collaboration with the Product Team and other impacted teams.

Innovation & System Integration
15%

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and improve ILAO’s digital platforms.
  • Test, pilot, and refine new functionality that improves legal acccess, including intake and referral processes and the delivery of self-help information.
  • Stay informed about new tools and technologies relevant to automated communication, guided navigation, data visualization, and digital service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the product team to recommend enhancements that improve accessibility, usability, and effectiveness of ILAO’s platforms.

Other activities
10%

  • Help identify and pursue potential funding sources and participate in grant proposals and reporting.
  • Participate in fundraising activities, events, and campaigns.
  • Participate in staff and other administrative meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience configuring, maintaining, and supporting digital platforms.
  • 2-3 years of experience designing workflow automations, chatbots, decision trees, or similar workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with creating and maintaining data dashboards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficient in using computers and mobile devices, with the ability to quickly learn new software and platforms.
  • Experience documenting technical processes and providing clear communication to non-technical audiences.

Preference is given to candidates with:

  • Experience with Twilio Studio and basic Node.js
  • Experience configuring LegalServer, Drupal, or similar database-driven platforms.
  • Experience maintaining and improving Tableau-based dashboards.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with user-centered design, accessibility, or usability in digital platforms.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Benefits: ILAO offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, health and dependent care flex spending account; 15 paid days off and 15 holidays in the first calendar year of employment; and, 403(b) retirement plan, to which ILAO contributes a required 1% of salary monthly.
