Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federal food assistance program for women, infants, and children. It is separate from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. WIC helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well and stay healthy by providing supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education.
Illinois does not check the immigration status of WIC applicants. This means that you can qualify for WIC even if you are not a US citizen.
