Domestic violence can become workplace violence if it affects the employee's work. If your employee is abused at home, you can file for a Workplace Protection Restraining Order. Before filing, you must give the victim written notice. You also need to have a conversation about their safety concerns.
If the victim gives full permission, the employer can file right away. If he or she does not give permission, the employer has to wait 4 days to file. A victim of domestic violence cannot be ordered to appear in court. Neither can they be ordered to testify.
