for Rule to Show Cause may be used by a person who says that another person has not followed a court order or judgment . The person who files the petition is called the petitioner ; The other person is called the respondent .The petition will:
- Say which order or judgment has not been followed, and
- Explain what the petitioner thinks the respondent did or did not do.
A violation of a court order is a serious matter. The punishment can range from warnings to fines, and even jail.

Use this form to ask the court to enforce a judgment or order from a civil case. The case can be ongoing or finished. The judgment or order must require the other party to do something (or not do something).

To complete this form, you will need:
- The date the judgment or order was entered,
- The part of the judgment or order that was violated,
- The ways that the judgment or order was violated, and
- The dates the judgment or order was violated.
