Can I talk to a lawyer through this website?
Illinois Legal Aid Online does not provide legal representation. Through our Get Legal Help tool, we can connect individuals to free and low-cost legal aid organizations and bar referral programs that may be able to help with a legal problem. We can also help you find your nearest legal self-help center (usually in a local library or courthouse) where you can get help finding information on this website, print, and scan documents.
Who writes the information on this website?
The legal information on this website is written and updated by licensed lawyers on staff at Illinois Legal Aid Online and lawyers from legal aid programs and law firms.
