Mediation helps spouses reach agreement on divorce issues. There a person who helps couples resolve differences and solve problems.
For example, parents who differ on child issues. A court will send parents who disagree over these issue to mediation. These issues can include parental duties, parenting time, and other child-related issues. Services may be offered for free in some counties through The Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR). In others, the court will divide the cost between the divorcing spouses. In this case, a court can order mediation for a reduced fee or no fee.
A court may also decide to send a couple to mediation for other issues. These can include issues with debts, assets, and money.
