The Illinois Department of Economic Security (IDES) allows you to earn up to 50% of your gross weekly benefit without reducing your weekly benefit. For example, if your weekly benefit is $300, you may earn up to $150 through temporary work and not have your benefit reduced.
Your unemployment may also be reduced by any vacation or holiday pay you receive. Your benefits may also decrease if you're unable or unavailable to work, typically by 20% of your eligible amount. But you will still receive any dependent allowance money you are eligible for.
